The City Council of Caravaca pioneers in the municipality the regional program 'My family council', with two daily hours of extracurricular activities (21/02/2020)

In the workshops, leisure activities alternate with school support, using the facilities of the public school 'La Santa Cruz' as headquarters.

The Councilor for Equal Opportunities has said that it is a measure of social court that helps caravaqueñas families to reconcile work or training responsibilities with the care and education of children

The City of Caravaca de la Cruz, through its Department of Equal Opportunities, pioneered in the municipality the educational program 'My family conciliates', with leisure activities and school support that take place every afternoon , from Monday to Friday, after school.

The councilor who directs the area of ​​Equality, Mónica Sánchez, has reported that this program began, with a very welcome, last November at the facilities of the public school 'La Santa Cruz', although children from other centers also attend Primary education.

"It is the first time that this initiative has been carried out in Caravaca de la Cruz within the Regional Council Plan. From the municipal government we consider these social court measures as a priority to support families in reconciling work and family life," as said the mayor, during the visit to these extracurricular workshops, which are taught in two groups of students.

The development of the 'My family council' program in Caravaca de la Cruz has been possible thanks to the financing of the Autonomous Community, through its Directorate General Directorate for Gender Equality and Diversity, the European Social Fund and the City Council of Caravaca itself .

This recreational educational reconciliation program has been received by 26 single-parent families or with both parents working or unemployed studying employment training of the Employment and Training Service (SEF).

The objective is to help make work or training responsibilities compatible with the care and education of children.

Participating children enjoy free after-school activities every afternoon for two hours, such as crafts, outdoor games and school support to do daily homework.
