The councilor responsible for the area has defended the neatness of the appointment in commission of service of the chief inspector, “a habitual process in public administrations, which scrupulously complies with the regulations and has all the favorable technical reports”
The headquarters is covered on a provisional basis while culminating the selective processes of public employment launched by the City Council and as an immediate reinforcement before the precarious situation of staff of the Local Police, with ten accumulated casualties
The Councilor for Citizen Security and Traffic, Jos Santiago Villa, has appeared before the media “to reaffirm the commitment with the Local Police of the municipality and defend the rigor and neatness of the process of appointment of the chief inspector, who during the period of two years will be in charge of it through a service commission ”.
The councilor has informed that “the appointment of a career officer to assume the leadership of the Police is made by pure responsibility, scrupulously complying with current legislation and through a process endorsed and supported by the General Secretariat, as well as by the Municipal departments of Human Resources and Intervention, with all the favorable reports in this regard ”.
“Not only this, but we took another step in bringing it to the attention of the different bodies of the Autonomous Community related to the matter - such as Local Administration, the General Directorate of Emergencies and the coordination service of the Local Police - that not only they supported the process but advised to carry it out immediately due to the precarious situation in terms of human resources referred to the Local Police.
“The service commission is an effective solution, of a provisional nature and a more than usual process in public administrations.
In this specific case it comes to alleviate the deficiencies in the service while continuing the selective processes that will allow to fill the 10 vacancies that in recent years have reduced the workforce considerably, ”said Jos Santiago Villa, who added that“ This measure has the sole purpose of ensuring the proper functioning of an essential public service such as citizen security and, therefore, ensuring the general interest of the entire town of Caravaca ”.
At the end of last year, the City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz launched a public employment offer, which will culminate in the selective processes to fill the positions of agents, through free opposition and mobility, and also those of sub-inspector and inspector through internal promotion.
“These are real measures, which have already allowed the entry of three agents and start the process of selecting the remaining eight to fill vacancies, meanwhile we will not leave citizen security in a precarious situation for the general interest of the caravaqueos and also by the agents themselves who urgently needed reinforcement, ”he detailed.
Among the objectives of this new stage in the Local Police, it is important to increase vigilance in districts and rural areas;
move towards a modernization of the body;
improve the coordination of human resources and enhance the proximity with neighbors to give an effective response to their problems or needs in terms of traffic and citizen security.
