The mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz, José Francisco García, together with the Councilor for the Environment, Ana Belén Martínez, have held a meeting with the president of the Segura Hydrographic Confederation (CHS), Mario Urrea, to transfer some proposals from the municipal government , as well as neighborhood demands.
At the end of the meeting, José Francisco García detailed some needs that exist in the municipality and that are the responsibility of the basin organization, "to which we appreciate your welcome and with whom we want to collaborate at all times."
In this sense, García referred to the improvement actions in the cleaning of waterways, river and riverbeds.
âIn this first contact we have laid the foundations to address different issues of maximum interest, such as the need to extreme vigilance to avoid overexploitation of aquifers and to control the transformation of rainfed to irrigated crops, in order to to protect water resources and traditional irrigation â.
