0. The completion of repair and stripping works on sidewalks, together with the improvement of accessibility conditions, in the neighborhoods of 'El Cejo' and 'Garden City' is the subject of the local public employment program launched by the City Council from Caravaca de la Cruz.

The actions in the streets located in both neighborhoods of the town center will be extended until the end of March, as the councilors who direct the Employment and Works areas, Ana Belén Martínez and José Antonio Sánchez, respectively, have advanced in the visit to the workers of the program

The local public employment program has a total budget of 80,000 euros, of which 60,000 are subsidized through the Regional Employment and Training Service (SEF) and the remaining 20,000 are municipal contributions.

"With this project, we continue with one of the priority objectives of the government team, which is to improve the maintenance and image of the public spaces of the municipality and make them more habitable and comfortable for the neighbors," said the mayor of Employment, Ana Belén Martínez, who recalled that "another important purpose is being fulfilled, such as the promotion of employment, with the hiring during the six-month period of five unemployed people; two masons and three laborers."

For his part, the councilor responsible for works, José Antonio García, explained that workers are carrying out repair, maintenance and adaptation works on public roads, such as pavement improvements, sidewalks and curbs.

Among the actions that have been carried out since last October, the ones related to the removal of architectural barriers to make the neighborhoods more accessible, improve urban environments and thus favor the independent life of people with disabilities in a non-existent way stand out. discriminatory, autonomous and safe.

It has also placed directional and tactile pavement adapted to people with visual disabilities.

This program of local public employment allows the performance of actions of public interest, which benefit the society, and which in turn contribute to the promotion of employment, with the hiring of unemployed people.
