The mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz, José Moreno, has met with the senator of the Socialist Parliamentary Group, Juan Luis Soto, who has confirmed that, following the times and deadlines established by UNESCO, the candidature of the Caballos del Vino Intangible Heritage of Humanity will be presented to the Secretariat of Intangible Cultural Heritage of said international organization on March 31, 2019, to be studied and evaluated in the 2020 Committee.
This year in the Committee of Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO, which is held the last week of November, will be studied the candidature 'Tamboradas, rituals of drumming. "
Spain can submit only one candidacy every two years.
The previous ones were the Montseny Biosphere Reserve and the Fallas de Valencia festival.
Next November 22, the mayor will attend a meeting at the Ministry of Culture and Sports to finalize the details of the dossier that will defend candidacy of the Caballos del Vino.
