The second edition of the '90K Camino de la Cruz' brings together this Saturday, October 6, 1,200 athletes of all categories.
The test will have the Plaza del Arco in Caravaca de la Cruz as the finishing area and the Plaza Cardenal Belluga in Murcia, with the exception of the marathon modality that will start the route at Plaza Cristobal Gabarron de Mula.
The Councilor for Sports in the City of Caravaca de la Cruz, Maria Jose Soria, recalled that "this test was created last Jubilee Year 2017 and in just two editions has established itself as one of the most important appointments of the regional calendar of careers, combining sports and tourism with success ".
This year, the Camino de la Cruz Foundation continues to be the main sponsor and the organization is run by the new association named after the competition, Sports Association '90K Camino de la Cruz', with the collaboration of the city councils of the nine municipalities where the event runs (Murcia, Molina de Segura, Alguazas, Campos del Rio, Albudeite, Mula, Bullas, Cehegín and Caravaca) and the Athletics Federation of the Region of Murcia.
The itinerary of this popular pedestrian race coincides with the last stretch of the levante pilgrimage road, along the route of the Northwest Greenway.
Participants must complete the distance marked in less than 24 hours, with 18 points of liquid and solid supply, distributed every 5 kilometers.
This year the ecological aspect of the event will be maintained, with green points for waste collection being distributed along the route and giving visibility to the solidarity projects of the participants and collaborators of the event.
As for the scheduled hours, on Friday, October 5, there will be the Corridor Fair, in the Plaza de la Cruz Roja in Murcia.
From 17.30 hours will be the collection of numbers and at 18.30 hours, the institutional act.
On Saturday, October 6, at 5.30 am, the participants will start the 90K and five minutes later the participants will be enrolled in the Cross-Skating modality.
At 10.00 am, the marathon will start from Mula.
At 16.00 the first trophy delivery is planned, continuing every hour with the groups that complete the course in that time interval.
At 5:00 pm there is also a pilgrimage to the Royal Basilica of the True Cross.
Likewise, on Saturday the 6th, the "Peregrinicos 90Kids" children's events will be held, with different races in the Plaza del Arco and around Caravaca de la Cruz, at 10 a.m.
In this way, whole families will have the opportunity to get involved in this test.
