The sculptor Juan Jose Quiros states since yesterday their latest creations at the old Society of Jesus.
The exhibition, called "Matter and Form II", was opened by the Mayor of Caravaca, Domingo Aranda, and territorial president of the CAM, Angel Martinez.
The ceremony was also attended by Mayor of Mula, Diego Cervantes, and the councilman of Culture in the City of Cartagena, María del Rosario Montero.
The exhibition consists of some 50 pieces, with size ranging between 30 centimeters and meters, the vast majority are made of bronze busts, although there are several pieces of terracotta, and presents the recent work of the sculptor of Cartagena, which highlights his treatment of the matter that makes up his work and can be summarized in a larger movement and the accentuation of the expressive.
The sample consists of a collection calendar, which is a continuation of which was a year ago in the showroom in Murcia and Caja Mediterráneo is the most modern, loose and light volumes that, as explained the artist, "flee to something more abstract."
The other part is more religious, more baroque has an accent and a personal tribute tata de Quirós to the Cross of Caravaca and devotion that the people of this city feel about it.
This section includes, for example, the busts of El Salvador, Santa Elena and Veronica to refer to people linked with the history of the Cross.
With 'Matter and Form', Quiros began a new phase in his art, which "emphasizes the textures, the strength of bronze from the print modeling, as pointed out by the sculptor himself, who explained that with this collection wants to give a message "light of hope, hope and peace."
