Who is Eddy Carvalho?

Eddy tiene 40 años y es  profesor de Educación Física.

Nacido en Sao Paulo (Brasil)  y militando en este deporte ya 22 años.

Ha trabajndo con diversos equipos.

Ya con 9 años estaba en una pista de voleibol dando  los primeros pasos para convertirme en jugador de voleibol.

El tiempo fue pasando y Eddy nos dice;

«Contrariando los deseos de mi madre, que quería que yo fuera medico, abogado…dejé mi casa con 15 años para jugar al voleibol y vivir mi independencia y hasta hoy no he vuelto a mi casa, claro que vuelvo de visita y hoy día mi familia ve con mucho orgullo y satisfacción mis logros como persona y como profesional».

 

1. How do you get to Caravaca?

There was a Brazilian player named Leo, who was playing in Caravaca when they were in the 1 st national division and the same player who had worked with me in Brazil recommended me this club.

Started telling me about this club and they were looking for a coach.

Jesus Leon and I had some contact and we agreed that I come here.

At first I was with much hesitation, because I also had an offer to go to Korea, but the language and power factor weighed a lot in my decision.

I confess that today I do not regret having decided by Caravaca, I have many friends here, I see a very interesting project and I'm happy here. While you can continue to contribute something to this club, and that people are happy with my work I think of staying here for many years.

my stay in Caravaca is for me a life project.

2. Is it hard to start and maintain a sport that is not mainstream?

Yes, it is quite difficult but not impossible.

And I think it depends on many factors: financial, organization and goals to be achieved.

When working with these three mitigating cite this allows a small margin of error so that any club can stay in business.

I see many clubs in several countries that are doing the right things, even those with little money and have their feet on the ground, and that is very important.

In Spain itself many volleyball clubs no longer exist, clubs that were poorly managed, I mean even clubs that are much larger cities to Caravaca de la Cruz.

The point is that anywhere in the world soccer is the world's passion and that's not change, but we must keep working hard and correctly in order to achieve the desired success.

Gradually the club volleyball Caravaca is borne on the national stage.

3. What players have evolved in their game since the season opener?

I think the player Pará was one of our big bets for this team, was a player that I was accompanied in other competitions in Portugal and Brazil, and I had in mind to sign his name by Caravaca.

This boy has grown a lot in the Super League, giving quite satisfactory numbers to our team.

4. Who has the most room for improvement?

Undoubtedly Aguilera and Luan are two players with great projections and throughout the season are improving.

They are quite young players who want to learn and this is the best thing can happen

5. ¿Qué opinión tienes de la afición caravaqueña?

Son todos mis amigos y algunos ex jugadores.

Esta afición  tiene mucha energía, alegría son siempre fieles a nuestro equipo, ganando o perdiendo están allí, animando y dando siempre mucha fuerza a los jugadores.

Estos chicos tienen  mucha ilusión y   mucha alegría, esto se ve en todos los partidos.

Cuando ascendimos a Superliga tenía claro que esto seria un gran regalo para todos los caravaqueños, espero salir de la situación en la que estamos en este momento para seguir dando  alegría a nuestro público más fiel y  también a la mejor afición de toda España.

6. ¿Qué objetivo tienes en la Superliga Junior?

Los objetivos son siempre el estar en lo más alto de la clasificación, el año pasado logramos el 4º puesto y este año, como mínimo, pretendemos mejorar la clasificación obtenida, estamos trabajando mucho para que este deseo se convierta en realidad y una vez más llevar el nombre de Caravaca a nivel nacional.

Sabemos que la fase final será bastante disputada y con grandes equipos, con mucha suerte y trabajo  podremos lograrlo.

7. ¿Y en las otras categorías?

En las categorías menores para mí más importante que ir a un campeonato de España es preparar bien a estos jugadores para el futuro, dándoles una buena base técnica y hacer que desarrollen todas sus habilidades y sobretodo el carácter humano.

Desde que llegué  a Caravaca nuestra cantera  viene presentando excelentes resultados a nivel regional y nacional, esto nos ayudará en un futuro, tener jugadores de nuestra cantera en el primer equipo también.

Ojala sea así y estaré muy orgulloso

 

8. What do you think this week's match against FC Barcelona?

It will be a tough match no doubt, especially because we have the pressure to win at home, if we win it would help us provide a very important step for permanence.

I am accompanied in practice and see that we have a chance to win at Barcelona, but it is important to return to play with joy and very close to achieving this goal.

It is very important that the public also see your flag and continue to support us in these difficult times.

¿Salvará el equipo la categoría?

Yo  tengo mucha fe y esperanza de que sí y así poder seguir dando muchas alegrías a los caravaqueños.

Tenemos seis partidos por delante y cinco de ellos podemos perfectamente ganarlos, digo esto porque ya ganamos a algunos de ellos.

Sé que en la segunda vuelta las cosas cambian mucho, pero estoy convencido de que lograremos la permanencia, para esto es muy importante la implicación de todos, directiva, comisión técnica, jugadores y afición.

Espero ver mucha gente  animando este fin de semana y que  nuestros jugadores puedan responder y  lograr  un importante resultado
