Sound Spaces bind classical music to historical places of Cartagena, Lorca, Caravaca Molina (25/11/2009)

Cartagena, Lorca, Molina de Segura and Caravaca de la Cruz will be hosting Sound Space, a classical music festivals of Spain's most important in terms of number of concerts and quality of the musicians involved.

The programming has been presented this morning in a ceremony held at the Palace Hall of Cartagena, which has benefited from the presence of the Director General for Cultural Promotion, Antonio Martinez and Culture councilors of the cities where the festival.

The Sound Space festival, held last year under the name Echo, will consist of 30 concerts to be held in more than 25 historical spaces.

All while maintaining the high quality of training proposals from France, Italy and Switzerland and world premieres such as contemporary score that the composer Murcia Salvador Martinez has created for the film Metropolis by Fritz Lang.

This makes Sound Space in Spain the only cycle that uses the space and the memory of our cities for music making of public space cultural meeting places.

This year, new spaces are added to the cycle as the National Museum of Underwater Archaeology or the newly renovated barracks Seamanship Instruction and the War of Lorca theater, whose restoration just completed.

Sound space is a clear commitment to making classical music in popular culture, removing it from elite sites such as auditoriums and concert halls and bringing it to the most representative of the cities, squares, churches, museums ... to their public sites.
