The Civil Guard dismantled a network dedicated to committing robberies in vehicles (14/08/2009)

The Civil Guard has developed over the last few months the operation "LIME" to eradicate a series of vehicle burglaries that occurred within the North West Murcia region achieved so far clarify more than a score of such crimes.

The Civil Guard has enjoyed the cooperation of the local police of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz.

La Guardia Civil de Murcia began last May, a police operation to observe the increase in the commission of a series of crimes committed on the same modus operandi against vehicles in the Northwest region, generating an alarm among the population.

The result of the first police investigation, investigating officers found that behind the robbery was a gang of several people, initiating surveillance and monitoring devices to fully know the structure and organization of this criminal group to disband itself .

The components of this illegal organization, of Bolivian origin, they traveled different localities of the region to commit crimes and adopted numerous measures to avoid detection, achieved after many devices to fully identify the members of the network and locate the building used by them.

"Modus Operandi"

The members of this band, organized and hierarchical structure, began his criminal activity by checking their victims, in this case vehicles were parked on public roads in remote and unfrequented areas of public transit.

Once located the target, took numerous safety measures to avoid being located at the time of the theft: one watched while the other two, by force, into the vehicle accessed subtracting stereos and personal belongings of the owners .

Once committed the robbery loot moved to a building located in the town of Caravaca de la Cruz, where she later gave out on the illicit market.

After obtaining all necessary evidence, the Civil Guard in cooperation with the local police of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz began the operational phase of the operation that culminated in the arrest of three members of the network.

Then took place, prior judicial authorization, the entry and search of the building used by this criminal group, seizing on the inside part of the effects stolen in the robbery.

Subsequently, we began a complex analysis of all information obtained from the investigational device, obtaining conclusive evidence that led to the Civil Guard officers to determine which members of the network are allegedly responsible for more than a dozen robberies committed since the end of April this year.

- Bolivia, 25 and living in Caravaca de la Cruz, also has a history of committing criminal acts before.

- Bolivia, 21 and living in Caravaca de la Cruz.

- Child.

With the development of this operation has been substantially reduced the commission of this particular illicit activity in the towns that make up the Northwest region of Murcia.

Investigations remain open, continuing with the analysis of information obtained, not ruling out further action.
