The City Council requested employment workshops "Promotion and encouragement of new sources of employment 2008" (15/04/2008)

Caravaca City Council has asked the Employment and Training Service (SEF) the implementation in the municipality of employment workshops "Promotion and encouragement of new sources of employment 2008" to promote and encourage a growing jobs demand in today's society.

This new project, led to 32 unemployed and registered with the Employment Bureau, includes the specialties of Microcomputer Systems Techniques and editing Web pages, Installer of Photovoltaic Systems and Solar Energy, Jobs Archaeology Assistants and Maintenance of Public Spaces.

The main reason that justifies the creation of new employment workshops, the sixth consecutive would be launched through collaboration between the city of Caravaca and SEF, is that the municipality is currently undergoing a process of slowing marble industry and other sectors related to construction as is necessary to promote new works in progress.

In addition, the Employment Department considers it a priority to support women in access to jobs where their participation is still a minority and for this reason that two of the scheduled workshops, the Assistant Archaeology Techniques and Systems Microcomputer, will have only one female students.

In this regard, Councillor for Employment, Salvador Gomez, said "in the current context is important to promote new fields to ensure a quality job and qualify in these areas caravaqueños who are unemployed through employment workshops in alternating theoretical and practical teaching for one year. "

The overall budget amounts to 667,067.20 euros workshops, funded by the City Council, the Employment Service and Training and the European Social Fund.

Employment Workshops "Promotion and encouragement of new sources of employment 2008" shall have the following objectives:

Improve the living conditions of the unemployed to participate in the project, facilitating access and integration to work.

Improving the professional training of students through the provision of knowledge, skills and occupation-specific tools.

Facilitate and promote the access of women in occupations that are new sources of employment.

Promote new technologies and conservation and dissemination of historical and cultural heritage of the municipality.

Encourage the use of clean and renewable energy in city facilities.

Continue maintenance of public spaces.

The intention is that these workshops will be put into operation later this year, once closed the currently being offered that include the specialties of Home Help Service, Gardening and Maintenance of Public Spaces.

Remember that, since last December and one-year period, a group of 32 student-workers, 25 of them women, are participating in the carve "Maintenance of Public Spaces and Community Services", in that is combining learning with specific training in each of their specialties, and additional training in Occupational Health and Safety, Basic Training, Computer Literacy, Environmental Awareness, Business Management and Career Guidance.

The workshops also have a section dedicated to the professional qualifications through productive work in public interest activities and social maintenance and repair tasks in public spaces and gardens and the home help service for dependents.
