The Energy Management Agency of the Region of Murcia shows a German delegation heating system draft North West Regional Hospital (15/04/2008)

The Energy Management Agency of the Region of Murcia (ARGEM) accompanies these days to a German delegation interested in exploring the possibilities in the Northwest Region to undertake projects of biomass.

So this morning the delegation, accompanied by the Clean Energy CEO, Paul Miranda, and the director of ARGEM, Francisco Ayala, visited the North West Regional Hospital, where the agency plans to develop a facility to generate heat through renewable energy, specifically solar and biomass.

This delegation has previously been received at City Hall by Mayor Caravaca, Domingo Aranda, and the manager of the Area 4 Health, Pedro Pozo.

Below were taken to hospital, where they have been informed of the intention of carrying out a solar heating system, covering 50% of the total demand for hospital and that the solar panels would be located on the cover of the current engine room .

One of the advantages of this project is that solar water circuit at no time is mixed with water consumption and therefore the risk of legionella infection are zero, as explained sources of Energy Management Agency, who also explained that it was found that there is space to locate the boiler so as to store the biomass, which would require about 26 tons per month.

The combined use of both renewable energy facilities will enable the North West regional Hospital emitted into the atmosphere no more than 515 tons of carbon dioxide.

Also, the location of the installation is favorable for the supply of forest biomass, as found in a region with high rates of forest.

The German delegation, which is made responsible for IBS and two professors from the University of Rottenburg, aims to identify opportunities for biomass boiler installations in the Northwest, and the logistics needed to address these projects.

Therefore it is visiting facilities that may not only have these facilities but also the mountains of the area, which would come from biomass.
