Three lectures and a concert held in Caravaca within the conference "Education for the XXI Century ' (02/02/2016)

A response from the Political Science '|

'Education for the twenty-first century.

Views from the sciences and arts' is the title of the conference to be held in different parts of the Region of Murcia and that will bring to Caravaca de la Cruz three talks and a concert.

It is an initiative at the University of Murcia, the Retirees / Retirees and PensionistasIntersindical Association and Museum of Science and Water of Murcia, in collaboration with ten municipalities, including Caravaca de la Cruz.

The Councillor for Education, Esther Poveda, and organizing committee member José Clemente Rubio, reported the activities in the municipality, stressing the quality of all the speakers and the opportunity for discussion and reflection involved in this event.

"The talks will focus on the analysis of the current educational situation and finding answers to the needs and challenges us as long as we live," Poveda said during the presentation.

The council also wanted to recognize the work of the organizers, "as days like this drive and stimulate a plural movement and interested in the quality and development of education".

For his part, José Clemente added that the aim is to analyze "the Spanish current situation and, more specifically, Murcia, and propose possible alternative realities and that education, in the first century of the new millennium, responds to the demands of the society".

In total, the conference 'Education for the twenty-first century.

Views from the sciences and arts 'are composed of 69 lectures, workshops and concerts, of which four will be based in the House of Culture Emilio Sáez'.

Speaker: Professor Pedro Jimenez.

Chemical Engineering from the University of Murcia.

Master and Diploma of Advanced Studies in Environmental Engineering (Polytechnic University of Catalonia), Master in Contemporary Philosophy, PhD in Environmental Engineering with Honors Doctorate in Environmental and Sustainable Engineering European Doctor Mention.

Researcher at the University of Porto (Portugal), California, Irvine (UCI, USA), Technological Institute of Zurich (Switzerland), Researcher at NASA (USA), University of California, Los Angeles, and so on.

He currently teaches at the University of Murcia.

He has participated in many national research projects and organizing international conferences as the General Assembly of the European Geosciences Union.

He is a student of music and has work on different singers: Leonard Cohen, Georges Brassens, Paco Ibanez, etc.

The concert will be at Plaza Massima, at 20.00.
