Education, a space for dialogue (07/09/2015)

Few days left to the start of the school year, a year that is expected complicated by the uncertainty generated by the implementation schedule of the LOMCE (Organic Law for the Improvement of Educational Quality) and the new political scenario that resulted from the last elections regional and municipal.

Moreover if we consider the nearby national referendums with the multiparty system at the gates of confirmation.

If we look back, we soon will realize that in our country have not done things quite right to education and the result of this are the prolific laws that have been repealed or amended their earlier over the last 30 years.

If we make a record, we find the Moyano Law (1875) first ninety-five years after the General Education Act.

From 1985 he begins dancing with LODE and then LOGSE (1990), LOPEG (1995), Lou (2001), LOCFP (2002), LOCE (2002), LOE (2006) and finally LOMCE (2013).

Not to be very learned in the field to realize that too in such a short time, and there is an obvious disconnect in the reform of non-university education (seven laws) and the University (one law, LOU).

Each of the education laws have been to improve the above, it would be wrong to demonize any of them, including LOMCE.

The latter's main objectives are to develop aspects related to evaluation and new methodologies that can be implemented in the classroom (see "cone" of Edgar Dale).

If we did a survey among the population, asking who is responsible for this situation, 99% would issue the same response, politicians.

And indeed people is right.

Now if we do a little reflection in terms of self-criticism, all those involved in education have our share of responsibility.

That is, teachers for their disunity to both regulatory change;

unions, motivated more by political ideology than their commitment to improving the education system in general;

parents by not claim for their children the best educational setting, join the rest of agents involved and fight together all for that, indeed, all political parties to sign an agreement and depoliticized in education.

So far the description, in my humble opinion, the educational landscape.

As it is not in my mind to make a naysayer or incriminating items to one key, and we all have our responsibility, let's see what we can do from now on.

What is clear is that society demands a change in this regard and calls on leaders at a table quesienten teachers, trade unionists, technicians, consultants, educators, psychologists, ... definitely our best experts that have very good to develop an apolitical and timeless text.

It is hard, sure, but I believe that less than it seems and capacity for dialogue, point of view and broadmindedness is possible.

A text setting out the main lines, the solid basis for building the new Spanish of the century.

As a starting point, the peak of this iceberg, the beginning of the road, can not be other than the adaptation of initial teacher training in our universities, very desconexionada living reality of our classrooms.

To do a double profile of the university teacher, researcher and professor teacher teaching experience at different educational stages.

Thus latter brings its updated and actual contents that are working in the classroom and the most appropriate methodology vision, while the researcher developed his specialized on topics of importance that are transmitted by their fellow teachers work.

It is neither more nor less than action research pure, but on issues that will be reflected in the classroom and not vacant issues that only serve to complete masters and doctorates, who shortly will contribute to improving the teaching of our students.

And if we do things well we can achieve multiple benefits, among other things, because we have a great professional, motivated and qualified in the classrooms of our country.

We can get unite labor and academia through vocational training and university courses.

Mark clear educational objectives for the next twenty years, always reviewable, but with strong pillars and in coordination with the European educational project.

Greater coordination between the different educational stages.

More motivated teachers, dedicated to improving their daily teaching and not to bureaucratic tasks.

Get clearly define the model person, student and worker we want for our children.

This would lead us to increase the professional qualifications of the worker and modify our "reproductive" economic system "productive".

Improve the social value of teaching and allow us to define a new model of teaching career based on quality.

forget the time has come for political stands, to think as a nation and put twigs to build the best generation of Spanish, with the best values, critics, constructive and innovative.
