Barranda this weekend celebrates the acts of the Party Crews (24/01/2014)

The events begin this afternoon with the opening of the Days of Culture Studies Oral Tradition

The festival "Barranda Folk" will feature performances of "Paradile Trompeteros", "Purslane Effect" and "Luar Na Lubre"

Acts of the XXXVI edition of the Festival of Barranda crews begin today, at 18.00, at the Museum of Ethnic Music with the opening of the Days of Culture Studies Oral Tradition and Progress "Folklore and School" , which this year have as main theme the story.

Subsequently, there will be the conference "Drink to tell" by Diego Lozano and Loren Gil, and a concert choir "Arsis".

In the evening, at 22.45 hours, the first of the festival performances "Barranda Folk" with Murcia group "Paradile Trompeteros" will be held.

On Saturday the program of the Conference on Oral Tradition Culture with talks and lectures all day and acting, at 20.00, "Tales of the mountain" by José Luis Gutierrez resumes.

The "Barranda Folk" closes Saturday with bands "Purslane Effect" and "Luar Na Lubre".

Tickets can be purchased at the box office Barranda Social Center from 2100 hours to fill seats.

Also on Saturday and Sunday open to the public permancerá IV Traditions of Rural Market, with over 35 outlets and various workshops like demonstrative, the distillation of aromatic plants, pleita, tools farmers and face painting.

Similarly, along a route you will taste typical local products of the area.

On Sunday at 10:00 will start the party with Mass Crews cantanda by the Brotherhood of Blessed Souls of Caravaca de la Cruz, in the Church of the Candelaria.

Next, the reception will take place at 12 gangs, pandas rounds and participating in this edition, with a tribute to Caravaca animeros for their participation and involvement in the festival since its inception.

The Feast of the crews, declared of National Tourist Interest, will this year with participation Animeros of Caravaca de la Cruz, Round Mijiriega (Extremadura and Ávila), the Gang of Aledo (Murcia), the slope Gang Gos (Águilas, Murcia), Round Motilleja (Albacete), Gang Zarzilla Totana (Murcia), Colla Brials (Valencia), Gang of Puri (Murcia), the Panda Verdiales Baños del Carmen (Málaga ), Ronda de Los Llanos (Albacete) and Aguilanderos Barranda.

Since 1979, coinciding with the feast of the Candelaria, patron saint of Barranda, the last Sunday of January is the festival of the crews, the day which brings pandas, rounds and music crews southeast Spanish oral tradition are given.

The party was declared of National Tourist Interest in January 2011 and has become one of the oldest of its kind and how many major cultural events are held in Spain.
