Caravaca prepares guided tours to raise awareness of the cultural and natural heritage of their districts and places (31/01/2013)

The Department of Tourism of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz will launch a series of themed routes to promote archaeological, ethnographic and natural of the districts and natural places of the municipality.

The project, supported by all political groups in the final plenary session, aims to show resources and attractions of Caravaca less known to the general public but with great potential for tourism and culture.

"We have planned a thematic routes and content cross where lovers have a place from natural areas, traditions and customs of rural to people interested in the monumental resources, archaeological, anthropological or we offer the districts and areas orchard, as well as those individuals or families who simply want to share a day together and enjoy the pleasure of a traditional meal, "said the Councillor for Tourism and Culture in the Consistory caravaqueño, Maria Cruz Perez.

Routes are planned for a duration of one full-time and others part-time, to develop a Saturday or Sunday, including displacement by bus accompanied by an official tour guide and, optionally, lunch, morning and traditional food in any of the existing local travel.

"For now, in advance, we will offer and promote two routes out of five who are ready and want them to be a reality by next spring, when the cold has slowed," he pointed to the mayor.

In Caravaca tourist routes will visit many sites and attractions such as the Roman temple of the Incarnation, the deposits of the Cerro de la Fuente and La Cabezuela Archivel Barranda, old quarries and salt, the natural environment of the River Quípar , mill, factory distillation of spirits, an exhibition of traditional rural helpful and Ethnic Music Museum, among other places.

Councilwoman Maria Cruz Perez hopes that these routes are well received by the public in order to extend the idea to more attractions of town and wanted to thank "the collaboration of many people who have responded positively to our call for that, together, we are able to provide a substantial part of the cultural and natural heritage of our country and districts. "
