The House approved an ordinance for waste management and the creation of the Bureau of Gender Violence (11/01/2013)

The plenary session last night, and that was convened in extraordinary session to discuss points that were pending in the last session, passed an ordinance to regulate the production and management of waste generated at construction and demolition, with the votes in favor of the team of Government.

That legislation, in the words of the mayor Antonia María Álvarez Jorquera, "seeks to ensure that debris and other materials receive appropriate treatment and avoid proliferation of uncontrolled landfills in the municipality, promoting recycling and sustainable development of municipality. "

The ordinance determines that license applicants municipal construction, demolition or trenches will have to submit a Waste Management Study and post a bond to obtain the appropriate authorization.

Moreover, all political groups showed their support and votes in favor of the proposal of the Council of Women and Social Development Board to establish Local Coordination Against Gender Violence, understood as a body of work and coordination that will represented those involved in the care of victims and prevention of abuse.

The objectives of the table will be at the municipal level to promote policies to eradicate gender violence, improve early detection of cases, promote coordination of stakeholders, provide an agile response to victims, provide protection to victims of high risk activities and conduct educational and awareness among the population.

The plenary also approved the 2011 General Account, which is an improvement over fiscal 2010, for possible referral and audits by the Court of Auditors.

It also approved several urban character points, mostly related to modifications of the punctual character General Urban Plan (PGMO), and the regulations that govern the operation of the new Road Safety Education Park, located next to the garden Pedro García- Esteller.
