Local Police Caravaca de la Cruz has arrested a person with 300 kilograms of stolen material, mostly wire coils and copper plates.
The officers have done this in the context of a special device deployed by the Department of Public Safety for preventing theft in industrial areas of the municipality.
Police observed a van traveling at high speed along the old road to Murcia and sought access to a secondary road where it is located a junkyard.
The agents proceeded to give the driver high and he fled in a reckless manner with direction to town.
Finally, the police managed to arrest the driver, Bulgarian nationality and resident in the neighboring municipality of Cehegín, near the old train station.
The suspect was taken into custody and, after making appropriate inquiries, the stolen material was owned by a company based in Moratalla.
The Public Safety Task Force has made this arrest inside a special device that is being carried out in order to prevent theft, especially copper, which are occurring in industrial and municipal public.
