The working group for the defense of the Judicial District of Caravaca de la Cruz held its inaugural meeting, attended by stakeholders in the Administration of Justice, as lawyers, prosecutors, civil servants, law enforcement associations and the District of Northwest.
This first meeting in the Meeting Room of City Hall, was chaired by the mayor, Domingo Aranda, and the regional deputy Gregorio Morales, who emphasized that currently there is one voice among the institutions Murcia defending the continuity of Caravaca courts.
"There is a strong consensus among all political forces represented in the Regional Assembly that the Judicial District of Caravaca should be maintained as it stands right now," said Congressman Gregorio Morales, who expressed strong support for the working group set up in Caravaca.
Aranda Sunday reviewed the events that occurred since last April, made public its intention to undertake a reform to modernize the administration of justice, which could lead to the disappearance of any court.
In this regard, he recalled the motion adopted in the City of Caravaca and the text agreed upon by the Regional Assembly and the meeting with the Minister of the Presidency.
The mayor noted as a turning point Day Plant and Judicial Demarcation convened by the High Court and the Supreme Judicial Council and held in late May in Murcia.
The City of Caravaca, through various initiatives, is defending the permanence of the Judicial District of Caravaca, composed of three courts and which includes the towns of Cehegin, Moratalla, Calasparra and Caravaca de la Cruz, with a population around 63,000 inhabitants.
