Caravaca start holding their celebrations of International Tourist Interest (30/04/2012)

Caravaca de la Cruz began celebrating their festivities of Moros, Christians and Wine Horses.

From 1 to May 5 thousand people will gather in the city of Murcia Northwest to live a celebration declared of International Tourist Interest.

This year the event takes on a special character, as the Wine Horses are candidates to be declared Intangible Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Thus, this festival, whose age is documented for over three centuries, becomes one of the Spanish nomination by agreement of the Heritage Council.

The holiday traditions Caravaca recall their origin in the Middle Ages, when the land was Murcian town bordering the Nazari Kingdom of Granada.

The unique and passionate celebration of the Wine Horses will reproduce true to the story.

Once again, the four young men clinging to his horse compete to be the fastest in a race full of excitement and nerves content.
