The old Jesuit houses since yesterday afternoon the exhibition "60 Years of Photography: File Martinez-Litrán" composed of about 4,000 snapshots made in Caravaca de la Cruz from the late thirties and the sixties.
The councilman of Culture in the City of Caravaca, María Cruz Perez, highlighted "the historical and sociological value of the images in the exhibition, allowing to know, through thousands of people who were immortalized on film, the evolution local society in the second half of the twentieth century. "
The photographic Martinez-Litrán belongs to the Municipal Archives of Caravaca de la Cruz and is composed of over 70,000 negatives of studio founded in the mid-20's by Jose Martinez Salinas and continued from the 60's, for Alfonso Litrán Nogueras.
The Department of Culture, after recovering the negatives, began a process of restoration, scanning and digitized them.
"The collection contains images from the 60's to mid 80, so we're talking half a century of history graph, we want to show progressively in successive exposures," he pointed out the mayor of Culture.
The first of the exhibitions is composed of more than 4,000 snapshots, many photographs of license, in most cases forgotten by those portrayed it disappeared into a bureaucratic process, but there are also photos taken more slowly, with more training, and where we see no
only the faces, but also fashion: clothes, hairstyles and especially today in the XXI century, come to surprise us.
The first exhibition of the photographic archive Litrán Martinez will remain open until 24 February, from 17.30 to 20.30.
