The mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz, Domingo Aranda, the Regional President in Murcia Caja Mediterráneo, Angel Martinez, and the Councillor of Social Promotion, Carmen Ruiz, presented this morning by the Leisure Program for Youth with Intellectual Disabilities (OCI).
This is an initiative that will develop a pioneer in Caravaca, which is to create a leisure space for young people, benefiting people with intellectual disabilities under 18 and their families.
Aranda Sunday stressed that "this project aims to provide support for improving quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities through leisure-related formulas, drawing on different spaces and city environments."
"Through this program children develop and improve basic skills, learning games and explore new experiences such as music and theater. To this end, the monitors will be supported as initiators and entertainment guides, who will meet the needs of users, "Ángel Martínez detailed.
The program will be developed over six weekends with the participation of eleven children and five monitors.
Planned activities include creative workshops, music, theater and games cohesion and sensory stimulation to work on personal relationships and movement.
