The City of Caravaca de la Cruz has requested the implementation of the program in the municipality Green uses the dual objective of promoting employment through initiatives related to improving and protecting the environment.
The Hall has drawn up a project, valued at 125,000 euros, which includes a series of initiatives based on criteria of sustainability and new opportunities in the business.
The project has been presented in the Biodiversity Foundation, the Ministry of Environment and Rural Affairs, to proceed with their evaluation and assist with the necessary funding through the European Social Fund.
The proposal aims to increase skills and qualifications of employees in sustainability issues, bring economic activity to environmental regulations and encourage the creation of companies related to natural environment.
Thus, as explained by the Councillor for Environment, Antonia M ª Álvarez, "we want to identify new employment opportunities in the town of Caravaca through training and customized advice to workers and start-up ventures and initiatives rural areas. "
The first phase focuses on conducting a series of natural resource studies, ethnographic and cultural factors that are likely to value in the town of Caravaca.
From the results of those diagnoses will develop a guide for the implementation of eco-businesses.
In a second phase will advise all stakeholders of available resources and opportunities for green employment initiatives and conversion of existing business facilities in accordance with standards of respect for the environment.
As for the main activities planned include the holding of seminars, conferences and training courses for workers and employers on good environmental practices, sustainable development and organic farming, among other topics.
It has also been provided for the design and implementation of a website, informational materials, as well as providing personalized advice companies to promote environmental values.
