The Commonwealth of Social Services Northwest is no stranger to budget constraints, to the reduced revenue.
The budget of the Commonwealth, according to the Comptroller of it, has declined in 2010 by around 230,000 euros over the previous year, mainly due to cuts in subsidies that are received, representing almost 14% less, although we are need to know what grants will provide the Autonomous Region in 2011 and in what amounts to what extent may face the major tasks.
For this reason, we understand that in any case it is necessary to carry out an austerity plan and feasibility of this Commonwealth that analyzes the current situation and provide steps to take to ensure their continuity and effectiveness of services provided in view of cuts in income, should clarify and update the debts of the municipalities in the Commonwealth.
Specifically, the City of Caravaca is the principal debtor, as it maintains an accumulated debt of more than 200,000 euros, that the Mayor is refusing so far to recognize, being the amount owed very similar to cutting income (subsidies) The Commonwealth has suffered, which is seriously hampering continuity in the provision of services for that country.
We have therefore proposed to the plenary of the Commonwealth following the adoption of the Agreement by, the members of the POSE of Caravaca, Ursula Marín and Alfonso Sanchez:
Make an austerity plan and feasibility that includes at least the following aspects:
- Report on detailed analysis of the situation in which the Commonwealth is currently in the maintenance of it.
- Reduction or abolition of allowances to members for attending plenary sessions, governing boards, etc.
- Possible reduction in current expenditure.
- Academic staff cuts or reduced hours.
- Prioritize the most needed programs.
- Clarify and update debts of the municipalities in the Commonwealth and deadlines for payment.
