The City Council presented the dossier Murcia Tourist Attraction National Party Crews (17/12/2010)

The mayor of Caravaca, Domingo Aranda, accompanied by the mayor of Tourism and Celebrations, Gonzalo López-Auguy, presented this morning at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism the record for the declaration of National Tourist Interest Party for the Feast of the crews Barranda.

The report, prepared by the City of Caravaca the past two years, collects detailed information on the history and characteristics of the fiesta, as well as promotional and media appearances, among many other items required by current regulations.

The record is accompanied by a favorable agreement of Full Council and an explanatory memorandum justifying the historical roots, uniqueness, diversity, values potential and tourist attractions of the Feast of the crews.

Also, the Department of Tourism has justified more than 30 appearances in the media nationwide, and has collected 41 letters of support for the statement by public institutions, associations and other groups from different parts of Murcia and the Spanish geography.

This is an ambitious and well records that accurately fits the legal requirements and that argues, with an evidence base, the revitalization that has brought to the oral tradition of music celebrating the Feast of the crews, considered one of the cultural events of its kind oldest and most important of all those made in Spain.

The record, after evaluation and required approval by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, will go to the General Secretariat of Tourism, Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade.
