Over 200,000 people visited during the past Caravaca bridge (09/12/2010)

More than 200,000 people have visited Caravaca de la Cruz during the last bridge of the Constitution and the Immaculate Conception, according to data collected by the local police and the Municipal Bureau of Tourism.

From City of Caravaca has made a highly satisfactory development of the Medieval Market, an event which, with reference to visitor numbers in recent editions, it has become the main attraction of the city after the festivities.

"The Medieval Market VII coincidence with the final of the Holy Year 2010 compliance has led to more optimistic forecasts and thousands were displaced tourists to the city during the past holidays, which has given a major boost merchants and hoteliers, "said the Councillor for Tourism, Gonzalo López-Auguy, who wanted to recognize the work and effort made by the Local Police, Guardia Civil, Civil Protection, Red Cross, artisans, restaurateurs and merchants of the town.

"It has been fundamental the work of Tourism staff, maintenance and cleaning during the holidays have developed their tasks professionally," added the councilman.

Caravaca Medieval Market has become, by the number of participating artisans and amount of scheduled activities in one of the most prominent of those held in Spain.

Caravaca City Council has seven years by developing and promoting this event in order to add a new tourist attraction to the city and enhance the craft sector and trade.
