The City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz will reinforce the teams and the personnel of the municipal service of street cleaning and collection of waste during the celebration of the patron saint festivities.

The 40 workers will work divided into morning, afternoon and evening shifts, providing a continuous service 24 hours a day.

In the press conference in which the different devices organized for the festivities were exposed, the councilor in charge of the Public Services area, Antonio Donate, explained that the company that will be the concessionaire of the service, Urban Environment and Environment, will reinforce the machinery with sweepers of small size to access narrow areas and streets of the old town, as well as large sweepers for the main open stages of the party.

In addition, two builders will be used for areas of difficult access, a van hidrolimpiador, as well as a truck cuba of 10,000 liters of water under pressure, which is used in large avenues, squares and gardens, using a deodorizing product for the elimination of bad smells on public roads.

In collaboration with Ecoembes, the City of Caravaca de la Cruz and the company Entorno Urbano y Medio Ambiente will carry out a campaign to promote recycling, with the placement of 80 new containers of large size in the areas with the highest concentration of people and next to clubs, kábilas and groups.

Likewise, 100 autonomous portable toilets will be installed, which will change their location, next to the areas near the parties' stages.

Like last year, in the Plaza del Templete, next to the garden of Doctor Robles, a toilet module will be installed, staffed by personnel who are permanently responsible for its cleanliness and proper use.

In order to beautify the main streets and green areas of the town, the Department of Public Services and Urban Environment and Environment have proceeded to the placement 1,200 species, between flowering and aromatic plants.

Specifically, 200 and 250 begonias have been planted in the Plaza Juan Pablo II and Plaza de los Obispos, respectively.

In the Huerto de los Frailes Square, 300 aromatics have been placed, as well as 400 dimorfotecas between the Plaza San Juan de la Cruz and the Templete.

Lastly, in Ciudad Jardín, 100 shrub species have been planted.

Councilman Antonio Donate, highlighted the effort made by the municipal services for Caravaca to show the image it deserves as a clean, healthy and sustainable city, while calling for civic behavior both Caravaqueños and visitors, collaborating with the recycling campaign and keeping the locality clean.

Security Plan, Traffic and Emergencies

On the other hand, the Councilor for Safety, Traffic and Emergencies, Pedro Antonio Muñoz, recalled some aspects contained in the Safety, Traffic and Emergency Plan of the patron saint festivities, such as the installation of defibrillators in all Civil Protection posts, which They will add to those who have ambulances scattered around different parts of the urban area.

In addition, at the Tourist Information Point of the Plaza del Arco there will be some wristbands, identified with a code, to prevent the loss of minors.

There will be about 370 employees, including professionals from the security services, health services and maintenance of public spaces, which are part of the special plan that will be deployed on the occasion of the festivities.

The 60 Civil Guard agents are joined by 40 local policemen, about a hundred Civil Protection and Red Cross volunteers, as well as health personnel who will provide their services in ambulances of Advanced Life Support (Mobile UVI), in the assistance and in the Regional Hospital of the Northwest.

The General Directorate of Citizen Security and Emergencies will reinforce the provision of the Caravaca Regional Fire Park and will install the Advanced Command Post, which will include representation of all security bodies and emergency services.

It will also provide the aerial means for reconnaissance flights and possible transfers.
