The duo 'Hispania: verse and wood', composed by the actress and theater director María Reyes Aznar and the Chilean guitarist Ramón Vergara, offers a poetic-musical recital centered on the mystical poetry of Saint John of the Cross and Saint Teresa of Jesus .
The concert, organized with the collaboration of the Department of Culture of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz, will take place at the Thuillier Theater, this Saturday, December 2, at 19.30.
The general admission price is 5 euros and can be purchased in New Jewelery or at the box office on the day of the concert.
"This new recital consists of two parts, a first in which we will interpret some of the great poems of the mystic of San Juan de la Cruz and Santa Teresa de Jesus, fused with great works of the Baroque and tinged with songs of Latin American folklore, and a second part entitled 'The country of the poets', with poems by great Chilean authors, such as Pablo Neruda, Gabriela Mistral and Vicente Huidobro, and works by the singer-songwriters Víctor Jara and Violeta Parra, the latter of whom is celebrated worldwide year the centenary of his birth, giving rise to a show that intertwines the New and the Old World through music and poetry ", has advanced the Caravaqueña María Reyes Aznar.
'Hispania: verse and wood' was created in 2012, with the premiere of the poetic-musical recital of the same name and, a year later, he presented his second work, "El siglo de oro".
The duo has performed in important halls and international festivals in Latin America, North Africa and Europe, counting on the sponsorship of the Government of Chile.
Ramón Vergara Silva has a degree in Art, with a mention in Classical Guitar from the University of Chile.
Vergara has been awarded in several international guitar competitions and has starred in successful solo tours.
María de los Reyes Aznar Martínez has a degree in Dramatic Art, with a specialization in Textual Interpretation from the School of Dramatic Art of Murcia, being a disciple of the maestro Vicente Rodado.
In 2012 he founded the company 'Teatro Finalis Terra', in Santiago, Chile.
Currently, the company is preparing his third work, 'Olvido', which is part, along with 'Juicio' and 'Belleza', of the 'Tetralogía del miedo'.
