Caravaca prepares to receive the visit of the King and Queen of Spain on the occasion of the Jubilee Year 2017 (23/11/2017)

The mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz, José Moreno Medina, has called for neighbors to participate in the visit that the King and Queen of Spain, Felipe VI and Doña Letizia, are planning to visit the city next Tuesday, November 28 , on the occasion of the celebration of the 2017 Jubilee Year.

The mayor has invited the caravaqueños and caravaqueñas to decorate their balconies and testify with their presence in the streets support for the Kings of Spain and the Spanish Constitution, "on this memorable day for the municipality and the entire Region of Murcia "

"Although the Royal House will not confirm the agenda of the King and Queen of Spain until tomorrow, Friday, as it usually does every week, the city will be prepared with great enthusiasm to receive the visit of the monarchs, since it is a unique occasion that will serve to show the whole country our historical and cultural heritage, which has as its most symbolic symbol the celebration of the Jubilee Year in honor of the Santísima y Vera Cruz de Caravaca ", said José Moreno.

The reception to the Kings will take place in the esplanade of the Castle, where people who wish may express their presence, before 10.30 am, the gratitude of the people of Caravaca de la Cruz for this visit.

The monarchs will previously make a vehicle tour through streets and squares of the city (Maruja Garrido, Gran Vía, Plaza del Arco and Cuesta del Castillo).

Finally, they will move, by Rafal Tejeo, to the church of the Company of Jesus, where they will close the exhibition 'Signum.

The Glory of the Renaissance. '

The last visit of the Kings of Spain to Caravaca was in 1980, with Don Juan Carlos and Doña Sofía.

Previously, in 1974, they were also like Princes of Asturias.

The last visit of the Royal House was of Don Felipe, when he was Prince of Asturias, in 2003, coinciding with the first celebration of the Jubilee Year.

On that occasion he visited the exhibition 'The City on High' and later on he made a pilgrimage to Basilica, where he worshiped the Sacred Relic.
