The Conservatory of Caravaca celebrates Santa Cecilia with a series of concerts (20/11/2017)

The Conservatory 'Leandro Martínez Romero', in collaboration with the City of Caravaca de la Cruz, celebrates a cycle of concerts on the occasion of Santa Cecilia, patron of music and poets.

The program begins today, Monday, November 20, with a concert of chamber music, which will take place at 7:00 p.m. in the church of San José of the former convent of the Carmelite Mothers.

In the same participate different groups formed by students of the caravaqueño conservatory.

In particular, the string sextet, the quartet of cellos, saxophone and piano, four-handed piano and, finally, the chamber orchestra will perform.

The activities are resumed tomorrow, Tuesday 21 November, with another chamber music concert, in this case starring the string quartet, the trio of flute, oboe and piano, the trumpet and piano duo, the trio of trombones, the string group and the string quintet.

This concert will also start at 7:00 p.m. and will have the same stage, the church of San José.

On Wednesday, November 22, at 5:00 pm, a talk on the Baroque is scheduled in the auditorium of the Conservatory, since the different concerts programmed within the framework of this cycle are framed in this period of the History of music.

That same day, at 7:00 p.m., in the church of San José, the Chamber Orchestra of Cartagena will perform, directed by Andrés Pérez Bernabé.

This last performance is also part of the cycle that is being held in the cities of Lorca, Cartagena and Caravaca de la Cruz with the winners of the XX edition of the contest of classical music for young performers of the Region of Murcia 'Between strings and metals' .

The closing concert of the festival of Santa Cecilia will be held in the Plenary Hall of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz, next Thursday, November 23, at 17.30, with the participation of the wind trio, the flute quartet , clarinet, saxophone and piano, the trumpet quartet, the saxophone quintet and the wind quintet.

The activities organized on the occasion of Santa Cecilia were presented by the Councilor for Culture and Celebrations in the Caravaqueño Consistory, Óscar Martínez, accompanied by the director of the conservatory, Raúl Bartomeu, as well as the head of studies, María Sandoval, the guitar teacher Erick Tinoko and the student of the conservatory of Cartagena and winner of the last edition of 'Entre cuerdas y metales' Mª Dolores Valverde.
