Presentation of the lines and measures of the new rural development projects Leader for the Northwest Region (24/10/2017)

This October is published the call for aid to boost economic activity and preserve the heritage of rural areas

The mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz and president of the Local Action Group 'Integral', José Moreno, along with the other representatives of the local action groups in the Region and the director general of Agricultural Funds and Rural Development, participated in the day 'The Leader initiative, driving the rural territory', which took place in the Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries.

The purpose of this day was to present the lines and measures of new non-programmed projects in participatory local development strategies, which should focus on job creation, improvement of the quality of life, maintenance of the rural heritage, care of the environment environment and gender equality.

The Local Action Group 'Integral, Society for Rural Development' - which brings together the municipalities of the Northwest Region of the Rio Mula, Pedanías Altas and Sierra Espuña - presented its strategy under the title 'Heritage landscape: for sustainable and intelligent development '.

This strategy encompasses five measures: 'Entrepreneurial territory: improvement and diversification of enterprise for non-agricultural micro-enterprises description';

'Roots: aid to small agro-food industries to diversify and improve their productive activity';

'Territory of experiences: actions for the promotion and diversification of the tourist activity';

'Paisea: aid for the recovery and efficient and sustainable use of rural, natural and landscape heritage' and 'Close to you: aid for improving services and quality of life in rural areas'.

The available credit under the Leader 2017/2021 program for unscheduled projects amounts to 10,977,000.

The aid will be financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (63 percent) and the Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries (37 percent).

Training projects are aimed at the active population of the territory with the aim of increasing employability.

Those of territorial promotion are actions developed in collaboration with local actors, aimed at improving the general economic, social, cultural and environmental conditions, as well as spreading the tourist possibilities and natural and historical characteristics, among others, that favor the integral development of the territory .

The productive projects have as objective the production of goods or services that can be commercialized, increase the rent of the promoters or increase the value of the properties.

Any natural or legal person carrying out an activity with the initiation of the initiative may benefit from this aid.

In this way, companies, corporations, agrarian transformation societies, cooperatives, labor societies, foundations and associations, as well as any other entity, associative or corporate, with legal personality may be requested by self-employed persons and natural persons.

Also eligible for these grants are communities of goods or other entities of a communal type, public-law entities with a private associative base (communities of irrigators, regulatory councils for quality indicators, etc.), local public entities and municipalities, among others.
