The second Teresian Cycle of Music and Conferences, organized by the Department of Culture of the City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz, in collaboration with the Discalced Carmelite Fathers, opens this Saturday, October 14, with a recital of opera and zarzuela starring Montserrat Martí Caballé.
The recital, like the rest of activities held during the month of October within this cycle, will be held in the church of San José, the old convent of the Carmelite Mothers, at 8.30 pm, with free access until completing capacity
The soprano will be accompanied by the baritone Luis Santana and the pianist Antonio López Serrano.
During the act, will be interpreted works of Rossini, Mozart, Verdi and Manuel de Falla, among other composers.
Montserrat Martí Caballé, born in a family dedicated to the opera, is the daughter of the world diva Montserrat Caballé and the Aragonese tenor Bernabé Martí.
He made his debut in London in 1993, singing with his mother, and shortly after they reunited at the charity concert in Rwanda.
Since then she has shared with her stage on multiple occasions and also some albums.
His solo career began in 1998, incarnating the Zerlina Zerlina of Don Giovanni at the Hamburg Opera (Germany).
Later came his recitals in the Liceu and the Palau de la Música in Barcelona, ​​the Teatro Real in Madrid or the Peralada International Music Festival (Gerona).
She has also sung in the Bolshoi Theaters of Moscow and Maryinsky (Kirov) of St. Petersburg, in Russia;
and in the German cities of Berlin (Deutsche Oper), Frankfurt (Alte Oper), Hamburg (Musikhalle) and Cologne;
in the Musikverein of Vienna (Austria);
the Salle Gaveau of Paris;
or the Royal Albert Hall of London.
More activities of the teresian cycle
The II Teresian Music and Conferences Cycle will continue on Thursday, October 19th, with the conference 'Santa Teresa de Jesús andariega', offered by the Superior of the Discalced Carmelites of the Iberian province, Miguel Márquez Calle, and will continue with the concerts of 'Ministriles de San Miguel' (October 20) and the chamber group 'La Pronuntiatio' (October 27).
The closing of the cycle will be the responsibility of the deputy director of the Mystic University of Avila, Rómulo Cuartas Londoño, who will deliver the conference 'Santa Teresa de Jesús and San Juan de la Cruz: originality and communion in the same ideal' on October 26.
All concerts and conferences framed in the Teresian cycle will take place at 8.30 pm, in the church of San José, with free entrance until full capacity.
