The Thuillier theater in Caravaca de la Cruz has been the scene of the gastronomic event 'Sopa de letras', in which the distinguished chefs, along with professionals from other disciplines, have participated in the program of events for the Jubilee Year 2017, to reflect on the creativity applied to the kitchen.

The opening has been run by the mayor of Caravaca, José Moreno;

the Minister of Tourism, Culture and the Environment, Javier Celdrán, and the delegate of the European Community of Cooks 'Eurotoques', Firo Vázquez.

Then, Antoni Luis Aduriz, one of the most inclusive chefs of the moment, was in charge of welcoming the 'Creative Dialogue'.

During the day, chefs, poets, musicians, photographers, journalists, educators, scientists and illusionists are participating, together with students from the region's hotel schools, with the aim of generating new ideas and approaches to gastronomy.

Eurotoques with the collaboration of the Caravaca City Council, the Tourism Institute of the Region of Murcia and the Camino de la Cruz Foundation - has sought with this call to go beyond the usual standards of hospitality and place this activity as a source of knowledge, culture and science.

'Soup of letters' has covered a multidisciplinary program, which has had the participation of Txema Sánchez, from the project 'The Dozen';

the poetess and owner of the restaurant 'Nuevo Paraje Moriana', Magdalena S. Blesa;

the creative director of NotionsUnidas, Boke Bazán, and Professor and Professor in Food Technology at the University of Murcia, María Dolores Garrido.

The co-director and photographer of the magazine Tamiz, Matías Péres, and the photographer and collaborator of Planeta Vino, Luis María de Pazos, have been in charge of talking about gastronomic photography.

The day has continued with a talk-show on magic and illusion in the kitchen, by the teacher of illusionism, Agustín Leal.

In the afternoon, a dialogue was held on cooking and gastronomic criticism, in which the chefs Andoni Luis Aduriz and Firo Vázquez and gastronomic critics Pachi Larrosa and Fernando Canet participated.

The final brooch has been put by the winning group of the CreaJoven Song of Author 2011, 'Hams with Heels', with a presentation on music.

Gastronomy is becoming a very important tourist attraction for the Region.

Murcia is the fourth autonomous community (only behind Andalusia, Madrid and Basque Country) with the highest percentage of foreign tourists who do wine-making activities during their stay, this product being one of the best rated, according to the Egatur survey.

In this sense, it is one of the main attributes that the region has to attract tourists, highlighting 8 out of 10 visitors the gastronomy as an additional reason to choose us as a destination.
