The Department of Culture of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz, through the Municipal Library, offers storytelling sessions and a creative writing workshop.
These activities are free and are taught every Tuesday by the 'Book Workshop' Association.
The objective is to awaken the love of reading and writing from an early age, enhancing the imagination and familiarizing the children with the characters, arguments and values ​​contained in Literature, using a participatory and entertaining methodology.
The creative writing workshop is called 'Portable Laboratory' and is based on the method of Raquel Díaz Reguera, author of a manual in which children and young people are invited to develop their love of reading and writing through simple and fun activities.
It will be given from October to December, from 7 pm to 8 pm, and is aimed at young people between the ages of 12 and 14.
The creative writing workshop starts from the premise that the best laboratory of the imagination is supported by our shoulders, and that it is only necessary to put it into operation and use it without limits.
The author proposes in her book games and exercises with the words and mechanisms of writing, to get the best and best of ideas: creation of characters described physically and psychologically, narrative structures, synopses and plots to add dressings, as well as analysis and learning of basic writing techniques, among other aspects.
On the other hand, every Tuesday of the school year, there are storytelling sessions in the library room of the Municipal Library, from 6:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.
This activity is aimed at children from 4 to 8 years.
The title story is changing every month and the capacity is limited to 15 places.
Those attending the 'Storytelling' can enjoy a dramatized narration, sometimes accompanied by puppets, others by illustrations and others by the imagination itself.
During this month of September the selected title is 'La vaca Paca'.
In order to attend both the storytelling sessions and the 'Portable Laboratory' of creative writing, one must register at the public library desk at the Municipal Library.
