On the occasion of the beginning of the school year, the mayor and the general director of Vocational Training and Teachings of Special Regime have visited the Basilio Sáez school. More than 3,700 children, elementary and secondary students study at (12/09/2017)

The Department of Education has performed this summer in setting up schools and helps families with limited resources in the acquisition of material and textbooks

The mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz, José Moreno Medina, and the director general of Vocational Training and Special Regimes Teaching, Sergio López Barrancos, visited the school Basilio Sáez, where they have held a meeting with the management of the center and have informed that the school year has started with normal and without incidences in terms of enrollment in the ten schools with which the municipality has, to which more than 3,700 students have already joined.

In addition to the 3,700 students from the Primary, Secondary and Secondary Schools, the 1,200 students who will study Baccalaureate and Vocational Training at the institutes San Juan de la Cruz, Ginés Pérez Chirinos and Oróspeda de Archivel will join.

Taking advantage of the holiday period, the City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz, through its Department of Education, has performed various maintenance and set-up in schools, such as general painting and repair of the firm San Francisco College and the next replacement of fenced in the children's playground of Colegio Basilio Sáez, among others.

In addition, other works demanded by the centers and associations of fathers and mothers, such as the reform of the costumes of the El Salvador school, the installation of new windows in Barranda's school, as well as numerous painting and repair carried out by the monitors and users of the Psychosocial Rehabilitation Program, under a collaboration agreement between the Caravaca City Council and the Murcian Psychosocial Rehabilitation Association (ISSOL).

On the other hand, it should be noted that, for the third consecutive year, the Department of Education has been collaborating in the acquisition of textbooks and school material for students of families with few economic resources that do not have other public aid.

The books that the City acquires become part of a book bank that is in charge of managing each school directly.
