The XXXVII Theater Week of Caravaca de la Cruz continues Tuesday with 'Tristana', a work inspired by the heroine of Benito Pérez Galdós, a woman who wanted to be free in a world dominated by men.
This successful performance, which arrives in Caravaca from the hand of the company 'Sequence 3', will begin at 22.30 hours, at the Thuillier Theater.
'Tristana' has in its cast with Olivia Molina, Alejandro Arestegui, Diana Palazón and Pere Ponce.
Pérez Galdós merges in the personage that inspires this work his amorous experiences with the young actress Conception Ruth Morell and with the novelist Emilia Pardo Bazán.
In front of her, as in an impossible triangle, the deceived seducer Don Lope and the young painter Horacio, unable to respect their desires for learning and emancipation.
And beside her, as an accomplice and confidant, the maid Saturna, the woman attached to reality.
Moments of smiles and moments of pain, in a function set in 1892, which invites us to reflect on the real situation of women in the world today.
The Week of Theater, organized by the Department of Culture of the City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz, will continue tomorrow, Wednesday 26 July, with 'Yerma', the work of Federico García Lorca, which this time will be directed by Alfredo Zamora and represented By the company Murcian 'Double K Theater'.
The hilarious and moving story Heroes, starring three veterans, will be staged on Thursday, June 27, directed by Tamzin Townsend and played by Juan Gea, Luis Varela and Iñaki Miramón.
The assembly is of the Basque company Txalo Producciones.
On Friday, July 28, it will be the turn of the work of David Mamet 'Oleanna', starring Fernando Guillén Cuervo and Natalia Sánchez, from the theatrical companies Txalo Producciones and Pentación.
On Saturday, July 29, the theater takes to the street with 'Typical', which will take the viewer to the topics and classics of the seventies.
It is a show by Nacho Vilar Producciones, which will take place on the Paseo de La Corredera, at 21.00 hours, with free access.
The activities for the children's audience of Theater Week this year are taken to the sports centers, with simultaneous storytelling on Sunday, July 30, at 8 pm in the clubs' Hípico ',' Argos', 'La Knoll'.
Individuals who are not members of such clubs may access prior withdrawal of the invitation at the Youth Center.
Early tickets can be purchased at New Jewelery, with reduced prices for retirees and students, and before each performance at the Thuillier theater box office.
All works will start at 10.30 pm at the Thuillier Theater, with the exception of Saturday's work and storytelling.
