The tenth stage of 'The Tour of Spain' will start next August 29 in Caravaca de la Cruz, on the occasion of the Jubilee Year 2017. The test will gather more than 200 cyclists, from the main teams at the international level, and will be retransmitted Live on TVE and Teledeporte, with an international coverage of over 150 countries.
The stage, with a route of 171 kilometers, will cross Sierra Espuña to finish in the municipality of Alhama, as reported during the presentation, held at the company 'El Pozo Alimentación', sponsor of the event.
The event was attended by Councilor for Culture of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz, Óscar Martínez, who thanked Unipublic, organizer of 'La Vuelta', the trust he has placed in Caravaca and the important support of the company Murcia 'El Pozo' for the Jubilee Year to be widely disseminated nationally and internationally.
In the last edition, the competition was broadcast in 190 countries, received more than four million visits on the Internet, had 250,000 downloads of the application, in addition to reaching 590,000 fans on social networks.
The presentation was attended by the Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Adela Martínez-Cachá;
The director general of Tourism, Manuel Fernández-Delgado;
The general director of La Vuelta, Javier Guillén, and the deputy director general of ElPozo, Rafael Fuertes.
In Caravaca de la Cruz, the exit zone will be located in Avenida de la Constitución, where the control of signatures and the animation area and sponsors will also be located.
The stage will start around midday and pass through Gran Vía, until crossing with Maruja Garrido, Granada road and the districts of Los Prados, Pinilla and La Almudema, direction Lorca.
The Vuelta Ciclista a España, which this edition starts on August 19 in Nimes and ends on September 10 in Madrid.
