About a hundred young people from 64 educational centers in the Region of Murcia have participated in Caravaca de la Cruz in the closing of the program 'Youth Correspondents 2016/2017'.

After completing the last section of the 'Way of the Cross', the students were welcomed by the Councilor for Youth and Education in the City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz, Esther Poveda, and the general director of Youth, Francisco Sánchez, who have Took the opportunity to thank them for the work done during the course, informing them in a timely manner of the programmed activities and, in turn, transferring the demands and needs of their own classmates.

The correspondents, who have spent the night in Caravaca, have also had time to enjoy the municipal swimming pool, visit the Fiesta Museum and participate in a party at the Youth Center, thanks to the collaboration of the Council of Youth of the Consistory of Carava.

The program 'Youth Correspondents' has the dual purpose of informing and disseminating calls, resources and activities that may interest young people, as well as to detect, collect and transmit their needs and demands.

The volunteers also manage an information panel and attend a youth information point in the center in which they study, coordinated with the Informajoven of each municipality and the General Directorate of Youth.

In Caravaca de la Cruz there are eight young people who work as youth correspondents in their respective centers and who maintain direct contact with the Department of Youth.

'Juvenile Correspondents' began in 2007 to decentralize youth information and bring to the places of study all information that could be useful to students through the collaboration of volunteer students.

In the present course 2016/2017, the program 'Youth Correspondents' has been developed in 34 municipalities and 64 educational centers, including the two public universities, with 135 young volunteers participating in the project.
