Until next March 3, the House of Culture 'Emilio Sáez' hosts the exhibition '40 years of memories', composed of images of the photographic background 'Photos Simón', which was donated to the City of Caravaca de la Cruz for digitization And conservation.
The councilman of Culture, Ă“scar Martínez, together with the relatives of Simón Giménez Álvarez, 'El Chavo', inaugurated yesterday this exhibition, which is open to the public from 5.30 pm to 8.30 pm.
The photographic background 'Photos Simon' consists of about 150,000 negatives, ranging from 1975 to the first decade of the twenty-first century.
During the last year, the Department of Culture has digitized more than 25,000 files.
"As happened with the Martínez-Litrán fund, this is the first of a series of exhibitions with which we want to remember how the Caravaca of the past was, through its people and the events that were captured with the camera of El Chavo "The next exhibition will open its doors in mid-March and will be festive, with images taken during the festivities of May, between 1975 and 1977," announced the mayor Ă“scar Martínez.
The Department of Culture provides free photos to relatives who are interested in preserving them.
To do this just write down the code that accompanies each image in the exhibition and fill out a form or send it to the email address archivofografico@caravacadelacruz.es.
