The Institute of Cultural and Arts Industries has confirmed to the Popular Group that the Caravaca City Council requested out of time the support for the Regional Scene Plan.
This plan promotes the performance of theater, music and dance performances of 40 companies from the Region of Murcia in auditoriums and regional theaters.
The Institute of Cultural and Arts Industries produces a catalog that includes more than 150 shows, to which the city councils choose.
The one in Caravaca requested the shows 'El Principito', from the company Teatro Silfo, and 'Los tres cerditos', from Ecoteatro Planeta Tisado, within the call for aid for the last quarter of 2016, which opened last summer.
But the request arrived late, so that these theatrical assemblies, aimed at children's audiences, were not granted to Caravaca.
Other municipalities, such as those in Moratalla, Bullas or Calasparra, host scenes from the Regional Scene Plan, which in general has allowed a total of 80 spectacles of companies from the Region in 31 municipalities to be programmed in 2016.
The Ministry takes care of 50 percent of the cache of the montages included in this last phase of the Regional Scene Plan.
Another 25 percent corresponds to the city that program it and the remaining 25 percent is covered with the box office.
This municipal neglect to request cultural subsidies contrasts with the cost of the concert of the group 'Mojinos Escozíos' held on Saturday October 8, 2016 in the Plaza de Toros.
According to the documentation provided to this political group, the bill for the performance amounted to 19,360 euros, to which must be added advertising and production costs.
In total, more than 20,000 euros of cost for the municipal coffers in a concert whose low attendance of public perhaps does not justify this expense, since the collection by entrance was only of 3,675 euros.
