The Municipal Belén, exhibited in the church of San José until 6 January (09/12/2016)

Until 6 January, the Municipal Belén remains exposed in the church of San José of the old convent of the Carmelite mothers, where you can also admire a series of replicas of the most representative monuments of Caravaca de la Cruz, made in wood by the Artisan caravaqueño Andrés Zarco.

The Council of Festivities of the City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz encourages all the caravaqueños and visitors to go to know the Municipal Belén and the sample of miniatures, activity with which the special Christmas program begins.

The Belén of the City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz is made up of more than 200 figures, with movement, polychrome and Hebrew style, made by the renowned Murcia craftsman Jesus Griñán.

It also has numerous buildings, which allow us to narrate the main scenes of the Nativity, made by hand by the artist Isabel Tornero.

The Municipal Belén of Caravaca, whose installation is in charge of a municipal workers team, directed by Hermino Montiel Ríos, is one of the most outstanding of the Region of Murcia, being awarded several times in the Regional Contest of Belenes.

The main novelty of this year is the integration in the montage of miniatures in wood that reproduce the most emblematic caravaqueños monuments, such as the Templete, the parish of 'El Salvador' or the Castle.

The church of San José is open to the public from 11 am to 2 pm and from 6 pm to 9 pm.

The 24th, 25th and 31st of December, as well as the 5th of January in the afternoon, will remain closed.
