Caravaca improves the coordination of emergencies with the implementation of a remote center of 112 (30/11/2016)

The mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz, José Moreno, and the Minister of the Presidency, María Dolores Pagán, moved to the headquarters of Civil Protection, due to the start of the remote center of 112, which, along with the Dependencies of the Local Police, will improve the attention and coordination of resources in emergency situations.

José Moreno highlighted the progress in safety that involves the use of these terminals and the training that are receiving both Local Police agents and Civil Protection volunteers to provide a rapid and effective response to neighbors.

Meanwhile, María Dolores Pagán stated that "in addition to allowing effective coordination and optimization of resources for their mobilization, the interconnection between municipalities and service 1-1-2 encourage the resolution of incidents immediately, which contributes To improve the security of citizens ".

The minister stressed that "we also put in place this improvement of the service at the gates of the great event that is for Caravaca de la Cruz and for the entire Region of Murcia Jubilee Year of the True Cross, which will involve a large influx of pilgrims And, consequently, a special attention in matters of citizen security and emergencies ".

The operators of the Emergency Coordination Center 112-Region of Murcia introduce the data of each subject to be managed in a system shared with the local emergency services, visible from the remote terminal that is installed in each one of them.

Likewise, those emergencies that are received directly by the local services through telephone, radio or direct knowledge of the operatives will be included in the system by the operators of the remote center of 112.

The intervention of the different agencies in the incidents takes place according to the existing protocols of action, which determine the agency or service that must act to ensure the life or physical integrity of people or their property.

The Ministry of Presidency has already trained 15 people in Civil Protection and half of the 43 people designated in Local Police, a process that will have concluded in January 2017.

In the municipality of Caravaca de la Cruz in 2015, a total of 6,721 cases were handled by 112, and in 2016, it was 5,988.

In the two years, more than 76% were health issues.
