The City of Caravaca de la Cruz, the Ministry of Education of the Autonomous Community and the Association of Footwear Industries and Alpargatas Northwest Murciano create a working group to implement in the town Vocational Training Middle Grade of "Technician in Footwear and Fashion Accessories "during 2017/2018.
This has been one of the items discussed at the meeting held in the Town Hall with the mayor, José Moreno;
the Councillor for Education and Youth, Esther Poveda;
the head of department of the Directorate General of Vocational Training, Monica Escudero and the president of the association of entrepreneurs Footwear, Manuel Polo.
The mayor has highlighted the need to improve training and get a qualification that provides added value to the product.
"From the regional footwear production, 70% is produced in the Northwest Region and especially in Caravaca de la Cruz, which is the municipality that more companies concentrated in the municipality, so we consider very necessary this module is taught by improving employment opportunities for young people, "he stated.
Currently, there are only two schools with specific modules for the training of professionals in the manufacture of footwear, located in municipalities of Valencia.
The module Technician Training Footwear and Fashion Accessories covers the entire manufacturing process, as well as the training required to perform various occupations and career opportunities related to the sector.
