The Local Board against Gender Violence meets to coordinate policies and plan actions (05/07/2016)

The Local Board against Gender Violence has met to discuss the cases treated at the Center for Attention to Women Victims of Violence (CAVI) and plan new actions on prevention and public awareness.

The councilman of Social Services, Maria Jose Soria, who presided over this body, has reported that in the first half of the year there have been 37 new cases, of which 15 are victims living in Caravaca de la Cruz, 6 Cehegín 12 Calasparra, Moratalla 1 and 3 of Bullas.

Regarding nationality, 29 of them are Spanish.

Specialized Care Center for Women Victims of Domestic Violence attended in 2015-80 users and led to 29 children Psychological Service for Minors.

The Local Board against Gender Violence within the municipal field promotes policies to improve early detection;

promote coordination of stakeholders, provide a flexible response to victims, provide protection to victims of high risk and conduct activities to raise awareness among the population.

At the meeting held at the Municipal Center for Employment, Training and Equal also attended by the head of the Coordination Unit for the Prevention of Violence against Women of the Delegation of the Government, José Luis Herrera, commanders of the Civil Guard and local police , social the City of Caravaca de la Cruz workers, the Commonwealth of social Services and the Regional Hospital, counselors use of SEF, technicians from the Department of Youth and lawyer, psychologist and social worker responsible for the CAVI of Caravaca from the cross.

In addition to analyzing existing cases between the various actors involved in the fight against gender violence, the Councillor for Social Development raised the need to carry out new information workshops and awareness aimed at various sectors of the population and announced that meetings will be held with the directors of all schools to discuss early detection of possible cases and the importance of referral to CAVI.

Currently, the Center for Victims of Domestic Violence (CAVI) is located in the Training Center, Equality and Employment, Diego Cortés street, next to the garden of El Cejo.
