"We need to talk", removing prejudices about intellectual disabilities (28/06/2016)

Caravaca de la Cruz, 28 June 2016 - Under the claim 'We need to talk', APCOM begins a campaign of fundraising for the organization will recruit people with intellectual disabilities.

Thanks to Obra Social La Caixa, eight members of this group have been forming over the last year in shares Face to face (face to face) to recruit members.

Now, four of them work in this campaign.

The aim is to knock down some of the prejudices that still remain present in society regarding the limits that can have these people to lead a completely normal life, and do it from the real example of the incorporation of this group into the labor market.

So, unlike the campaigns to attract other associations, are the persons with intellectual disabilities which in this case come directly to citizens to tell their dreams and show that they too can be formed to develop a particular job.

This is one of many actions that have been organized for the campaign 'We need to talk, "a claim that anticipates us the importance of what they want us to have.

The action is completed by signs that, based on some of the preconceptions that society has intellectual disabilities, we see real cases that show that they are nothing more than prejudices.

An approach to the reality that shows that 'the greatest limitation of people with disabilities are prejudices.

What they need is support. "

And they have taken to the streets to prove it.
