The City of Caravaca de la Cruz has joined the Regional Network of Municipalities for Citizen Participation, through the signing of a cooperation agreement signed by the mayor, Jose Moreno, and the Minister of Presidency, Maria Dolores Arce.
This agreement translates into a commitment by the caravaqueño Consistory to promote citizen participation processes for the development of measures involving neighbors.
In return, the Autonomous Community offers support, advice and training in this area.
"This collaboration between administrations will implement actions 'Open Government', thus increasing transparency and active participation of citizens in the processes of decision making of public affairs, which will result in a more transparent and higher quality policy" has detailed José Moreno.
The Regional Network of Municipalities for Citizen Participation aims to promote and coordinate actions in different municipalities, exchange experiences between administrations and propose joint initiatives with the aim of promoting the involvement of society in public life.
Mainstreaming of citizen participation policies demand interagency collaboration between local and regional level and optimizing public resources.
