Renewed commitment to the Edict of the horses came to carry out all activities and promotion actions necessary for the completion of work carried candidacy to Intangible Heritage of Unesco to where it is today and on the other hand urge the Autonomous Community to maintain and increase support.
This is the request of the last motion registered by the Municipal Group in the City of Caravaca for discussion and vote at the next plenary.
"The Wine Horses represent themselves the perfect alliance between tradition and popular culture. It is necessary to encourage and promote knowledge internationally. The importance and responsibility for its conservation belong to the government and to the people of Caravaca that through its own town Hall and the Edict of the Wine Horses, umbrella organization participants, try to get the coveted UNESCO recognition that this party certainly deserves, "said the municipal popular spokesman Jose Francisco Garcia.
In recent years there have been many actions, designed to consolidate and promote this candidacy, protecting the celebration and collect government support.
Thus, a joint motion of all local political groups in the city of Caravaca de la Cruz was adopted on December 23, 2010 to request the declaration of the Wine Horses as Intangible Heritage of Humanity.
On 19 October 2011 the Murcia Regional Assembly passed a motion in this regard.
On November 4, 2011 the regional government declared of cultural interest the celebration.
In 2013 the Popular Party in the Congress of Deputies presented a non-legislative proposal urging the Executive of the Nation to support the candidacy.
Similarly, many means of regional, national and international media echoed this celebration every year, giving a projection and dissemination reaching many millions of people.
