The City of Caravaca de la Cruz and the Royal and Illustrious Brotherhood of Vera Cruz today signed the cooperation agreement, approved at the plenary session last January.
The document was signed by the mayor, José Moreno, and older sister, Elisa Giménez-Giron, who have expressed the commitment of both institutions to continue working on the promotion and dissemination of Caravaca de la Cruz as a permanent place of pilgrimage.
The agreement includes the transfer to the Brotherhood of the use of Real Alcázar and the Basilica in which worship is given to the patron saint of the city.
The Consistory reserves the right to schedule one-time cultural activities in that space as well as the right to exploit the Museum of Sacred Art through exhibitions, permanent or not.
To that end, the Brotherhood would yield free funds jewelry, ornaments and paint deposited in the Museum of Sacred Art.
The agreement has an initial term of six years, reflects the commitment of the City to pay the annual report to the Brotherhood of Vera Cruz amount for the subsidy for general and / or extraordinary expenses.
