The "Teresian Cities" agree to reactivate the association (14/11/2019)

Caravaca, together with the municipalities that are part of the 'Huellas de Teresa' project, was represented at the assembly of the Group of Teresian Cities of Spain

In the next edition of FITUR, it was agreed to present the ephemeris '50 years of Teresa de Jesus as the first doctor of the Church'

The 'Footprints of Teresa' network will commemorate in 50 the 50 years since Teresa of Jesus was proclaimed as the first Doctor of the Church.

This has been agreed in Madrid by the ordinary assembly of this network, of which Ávila is a part;

Malagon;

Valladolid;

Toledo;

Pastrana;

Salamanca;

Alba de Tormes;

Segovia;

Beas de Segura;

Seville;

Caravaca de la Cruz;

Villanueva de la Jara;

Palencia;

Soria;

Granada and Burgos.

Caravaca de la Cruz has participated in the assembly of the association Group of Teresian Cities of Spain, with the presence of representatives of different municipalities that comprise it.

"The objective of this assembly has been the need to start a new stage that reactivates and dynamism the association", as reported by the mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz, José Francisco García.

In this regard, he said that "we want to launch joint initiatives that take advantage of the potential of each of the cities as religious tourism destinations."

The 'Teresian Cities' agreed to request a meeting at the International Tourism Fair of Madrid (FITUR) with the Minister of Culture and with the advisers of the different autonomous communities involved in the route 'Footprints of Teresa'.

In this forum, the ephemeris '50 years of Teresa de Jesus as the first doctor of the Church' will be presented.

The general assembly of Huellas de Teresa decided to renew the presidency in the City Council of Malagón (Ciudad Real), while coordination will continue to be carried out by the City Council of Ávila

The project 'Teresian Cities' was forged on the V Centenary of the Birth of Saint Teresa of Jesus and since then Caravaca de la Cruz has been part of it.

The association consists of municipalities that have a special and unique relationship with Teresa de Jesus for having had one of its 17 foundations.

All cities are part of the tourist and cultural route 'Huellas de Teresa de Jesús', with which you can know the values ​​and cultural and humanistic heritage linked to Santa Teresa.

It is a free route, which allows multiple options and adapts to the needs of tourists and pilgrims.

A different way to get to know Spain through some of the most important towns of the XV century.
