PSOE: The UNED of Caravaca opens again "thanks to the interest shown by the Municipal Socialist Group" (17/10/2019)

The plea presented during the ordinary plenary session on September 30 by the municipal socialist group of Caravaca on the UNED, University at a distance, has revealed an irregular situation that has been resolved thanks to the interest shown by this group, opening the doors again of said university restoring the service to its users.

After observing that the headquarters remained closed during the last weeks for internal reasons of the university itself and the beginning of the academic year is imminent, from the PSOE of Caravaca we demand that the government of our city council take measures in this regard, obtaining in response an exit for the tangent to justify the lack of interest in the circumstance, claiming that no complaint had come about this matter or that it could simply be done electronically.

First, gentlemen, making use of common sense and responsibility as public servants, we should not wait to receive such "complaints" to take action on the matter and offer solutions and proposals when the dead end has been reached, we cannot sitting down to amend a situation when the demands of the neighbors rain.

The basis of good management is to anticipate the inconveniences that, in this case, may result from having such a necessary and important institution closed, namely, not only to offer the services of enrollment and processing of scholarships of the Ministry of Education, but that In addition, UNED offers face-to-face classes for those studying for university access, languages, use of a computer room, among many others.

On the other hand, although it is true that the UNED allows to carry out a registration process through the internet, we believe that the proximity and personal treatment when performing an important service such as the choice of higher education and clearing doubts of First hand should be a priority for the education area of any town hall.

What a time when you have to defend the obvious!

Well, it is appreciated that, a few days after submitting our proposal, services have been started regularly at the Distance University and accepting the suggestion made to replace the work of the secretariat with municipal staff and that the mayor of Caravaca I met personally with María Luisa Martínez, director of the Associated Center of the University of Distance Education in Cartagena.

Even today there is a pending issue, a false accusation in the air, exposed by the Group of the Popular Party in the past full to the previous corporation of the municipality of Caravaca de la Cruz about having a "debt" with the UNED of € 12,000, without presenting any evidence, perhaps as a way of justifying that the headquarters would remain closed as of September 30.

We will never know that, because, as the end of the party may be fine, one can be covered with glory by releasing such a projectile knowing that there is no replica or option to be denied in a public assembly in turn, but I repeat, we are still at Waiting for the document to prove this fallacy.

This false accusation has even been denied by technicians from the town hall itself, who do not understand from which manga they could have taken out such discredit, revealing ignorance about issues that sensitively affect the good organization of the services needed. For our citizens.

Maybe it's not about politics, maybe it's not about waiting to see them coming, but being alert and accepting, at least for once, that good proposals will always be worthy of listening, come from those who come.
